Not comparable in terms of style/taste and walkability, but this place sold recently, also zoned for Murch, across the street from Rock Creek Park, about as close to downtown (and probably a nicer drive).  I'd prefer this house at equivalent prices (e.g. even if the original house sold at $1.8), let alone with an extra $500k in my pocket...

I love this modern house. It is architecturally distinctive, but the lot is not kid or pedestrian friendly. Basically, this is a house that you drive and in out of, as there is no sidewalk down this stretch of 27th. Pedestrians can walk at their own risk. I would not buy this house with young kids. Also, during the winter, it can even be a treacherous drive because it gets icy. If this house were on the other side of Military, or even on 28th St on the same side of Military, it would have gone for $500K more.[/quote]
