Is SYC really merging with McLean or is this conjecture? I have boys but SYC seems like the stronger club in the younger years at this point.
Seems like silly conjecture at this point, I'm not sure how that geography even works for either team. It skips over half a dozen teams in the middle that make more sense for either squad to link up up with.
Not a merger but a partnership. McLean gets access to MLSNext for boys and SYC gets ECNL access for girls. Seems pretty simple. Does anyone have any other details?
How does this really help anyone? Cant anyone already try out for those teams anyway? It’s not like they’ll have the same coaches, would still involve tryouts and making a team.
Maybe something where they send their top players to train with the teams from those leagues and that they could also guest play? Each club retains their players to play in their own leagues as well. As an example, McLean would send their top 08 boy to train a few times per week with SYC and guest play in games while also being able to retain him to play in ECNL.
