Probably because this guy is campaigning for governor on an open schools immediately “We’re doing something unprecedented in this campaign. We’re actually working with the Open Fairfax, Open Loudoun, Open Prince William movements and all throughout Virginia,” he said. “We’re going to take on obstructionist school board members who are standing in the way, putting unions ahead of children, and we’re going to recall them.” https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/politics/first-read-dmv/pete-snyder-launches-campaign-for-virginia-governor-with-open-our-schools-message/2552045/
If he wins, I will swallow a tarantula.
I don’t know. As soccer moms go, so goes Virginia. Women turned it blue after Trump. Women can and will turn it red. They are losing jobs to DL. Their kids are struggling in DL. Moms will go red in local elections to end this mess.
It's not that he's a Republican. It's that he's associated with the far right wing of the party when there are more Larry Hogan style Republican candidates available. I think the alternates, who still will push for open schools, would better appeal to soccer moms (like myself). Obviously no Republican is going to be enough for the progressives in northern Virginia of any gender, but for the moderates a Trumper isn't going to work where a Hogan might.
