I don't know if Pampered Chef does parties, but if so, I get that this is loaded with a ton of dread, and that sucks, but hasn't happened yet. You do not have to do that if she ever asks ("Oh, Karen, I'm really not the party host type. But if you want to drop off some catalogs I can give them to a few friends."...repeat without emotion if necessary).

This is unnecessary emotional labor and if OP were a guy, you would just tell him to say no, not interested. OP should just be upfront and do the same. This will deter the SIL from any more solicitation.[/quote]
