For Christmas? Nothing.

After a year of coming down and I was the only one with nothing in the stocking and 3 button downs (which I never wear) under the tree, DH and I had a chat about expectations. I expect that I will not fill my own stocking after doing nice things and buying thoughtful gifts for everyone else during the holidays. He can find some candy or something to put in it. It's ridiculous that I had to spell this out to him, fwiw.

As to gifts, I didn't tell him I didn't like what he bought me. But suggested going forward we give each other lists. So now we give a list of a bunch of things in varying price range that we can choose from. I also usually do some surprises knowing what he likes/paying attention. He does less of that. It's disappointing he is not a more thoughtful gift giver and I have NEVER asked for anything expensive (bags, jewelry, etc.).[/quote]
