What if OP and her husband film themselves?  and oops - accidentally forgot to turn off the camera? (OP, I'm not saying you and your husband do this, but nor am I knocking it either!)

How can anyone prove what they're doing in their own rooms is illegal?  Must they show evidence of sex tapes to prove their "innocence" in this case??

I remember researching this after a nanny cam thread on this site- it is reasonable to expect privacy in a bedroom or bathroom in a house you are working and therefore the owners are not allowed to film nannies in these rooms- I think you make an interesting point about a camera for the OP personal use and don't know how that would be handled but I do know that you can't record audio of other people no matter what room! OP should maybe set a boundary with her house keeper but definitely don't admit to the filming because she could get herself in trouble.[/quote]

I don't think it's reasonable to expect privacy in someone ELSE'S bedroom if I am a nanny.  The nanny's bedroom, absolutely. Any bathroom, absolutely.

And pp who is a nanny. of course I'd let my nanny shower at my house, an all day every day child care situation is very different.  The nany may legitimatley eat, bathe, even nap at my home if it's appropriate to what the child is doing.  (your example of after a pool is a perfect one)  But you do sound like a jerk and if people knew what you were really like I doubt they'd want you for a nanny.

My philospohy on nanny/secuirty cams has always been - TELL people they are there.  Ensure the behavior you want. Be honest about the cams.  It's what I would want others to do for me.
