Listen to Chris Watts explain himself a bit more to Detectives. They ask him about the last time he and Shannan had sex. It's interesting to me that he avoids the question for a while, then later refers to it as a "trigger point" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sX3jot5I3I Yep, I think he killed her during or after the sex.
I really hope this is not true
it is true, at least according to his testimony. They had sex, he told her he was leaving, she threatened he would never see the kids again, then he strangled her. She didn't resist (had no defensive wounds) - probably he'd strangled her before without killing her and she didn't realize this time it was for real. It's also entirely possible he strangled her during sleep which would explain why she had no defensive wounds, but strangling usually follows an argument or outburst. It's a crime of passion.
Chris Watts also said she was dead face down on the bed when Bella came into the room. That tells me she was sleeping, just like her father thinks. I doubt he was physically abusive toward her before. He seemed very restrained and it would have come out between how much she shared with friends about their relationship and all of the text messages between them.
