You really could leave your shitty partner with your young kids and something very bad could happen. There's no good way to handle that. Leaving them isn't good, either, because then they'll probably want partial custody and have more opportunities to accidentally kill your kids. And, also, they legitimately might get better over time, and your kids will get more independent. [/quote]
