I had a similar experience on the road. I was in grade school with a toddler, constantly tired. Was returning home one night very tired, driving through the heavy rain on i-66 (one of those VA rains when you can't see anything even at the 20 mph). I usually never pull over during the rain and just drive with caution, but there was something that told me to pull over (I could hear the voice, and I am a big time atheist). I pulled over, waited for approximately 20 min (almost felt asleep behind the wheel), and when I proceeded to drive there were a multiple car crash just 3 miles ahead of me with a lot of fatalities.
