+1 on INOVA Fairfax. Holy Cross in MoCo SUCKS btw
How so, can you explain?
Bump. Please expand more on Holy Cross as it was one my kaiser options. Any Holy Cross births?
I loved Holy Cross when I delivered there two years ago. Big rooms. Supportive nurses - they knew I didn’t want to give into an epidural easily and were telling me I was doing great, didn’t need it, etc (but got me one when I was like, no it’s time!). The epidural came in like 15 minutes. Food was decent. Mostly, j love my OB practice and that’s where they are. Going back this summer for #2.
I delivered DS at Holy Cross Silver Spring a few years ago, and DD a few weeks ago at Holy Cross Germantown; have been with Kaiser for several years and saw Kaiser docs through both pregnancies. Had a good experience at both with supportive OBs and nurses. I did have a birth plan all set up and wanted to walk around, use the birthing balls, etc., but both births ended up being inductions so that idea went out the window. But the nurses and OBs were patient and explained every bit of what was going on. Although DS's birth was long and unpleasant (DD's was much easier and quicker), I have nothing but good things to say about the staff. DS was born in early September and HCH SS was extremely crowded... I ended up having my induction rescheduled twice, and had to wait to be admitted to a recovery room until someone was discharged. I think one of the nurses said they'd delivered a record number of babies that month. HCH Germantown doesn't deal with as high a volume, so overall it didn't seem as busy and I felt I got more attention the second time around.
