I’m the most left leaning person out there, but I have to give props to governor Hogan. 500k test kits direct from Korea? Excellent work.
How many tests do the hospitals in Maryland and Maryland Government facilities have before they got 500,000 from South Korea ??? How many of the 500,000 will they use by Fall ??? If they test 10,000 a day, that would take 50 days.
Plus, these tests cost $9 million. That is a LOT of money. To what end? The tests can have lots of false negatives, apparently. How does this mean we get back to work quicker. I like Hogan, but not sure this was the best use of money.
The state budget is about $48,000,000,000. $9,000,000 is 0.02% of that. It's not a lot of money, especially if it helps us get out of the stay-at-home order, which means more economic activity, which means more tax revenue.
