OP here. I think this grossly oversimplifies the question. In my case, I have an 18 month old. Avoiding risks to my health is a priority first and foremost to try and keep him healthy, and secondly to keep myself healthy so we lessen the risk of him losing a parent. Not to mention dh, our parents, other loved ones and all the doctors on the front line we might compromise by actively choosing to try and conceive and put myself in a situation where I’d need medical attention. I also have other conditions that require seeing three types of doctors regularly through pregnancy to monitor those conditions. Each of those doctors is necessary and is additional exposure for everyone involved.

I am disappointed. It took me awhile to conceive my first, even when I was in my twenties. I had hoped to have my kids relatively close in age, geared up for another long, emotionally difficult ttc period, but could never in my wildest thoughts have imagined this scenario.

I’m also not judging many people who are choosing to continue trying. Especially if age is a big factor, and if this is a first child. I think personally those are the two scenarios I’d probably be on the fence delaying over. Wishing good health & safety to all of you[/quote]
