How long do you ride your bike? I am up to 12 minutes and have a block (more mental than physical) preventing me from doing more. I finish on the bike after 60 minutes of Concept 2 (model A, the original, sans monitor/stats) rowing, and about 25 or more minutes using a leg bench doing various things to strengthen my leg muscles and prevent my ankles from swelling: I write first thing in the morning starting at 4AM and continuing on to 8AM or 9. My ankles swell if I don't exercise after writing. Part of my problem is the fold-up chair I sit on when writing/editing but I am superstitious about making any changes to my writing routine. Oh, and I am 74 years young.
I am doing two 30 minute, two 45 minute, and one 60 minute ride a week. Plus I am trying to do some yoga and weights 4-5 times a week. But I am 48 and was in OK shape when I started. There are a number of classes that you can take that are 10-20 minutes, just stick to your comfort level and don't worry too much about the cadence and resistance that are called out. Or try the scenic rides. You can ride those at any pace and they have a variety of different lengths. I will say that there are a series of 60-70 year olds who I see riding in my Power Zone classes. So they are doable for people of all ages but you need to be comfortable enough to do them. As for set up, there have been a lot of complaints about the set up by XPO on the Peloton Facebook page. It sounds like it is pretty awful in some areas while just fine in others. Call Peloton customer service and let them know there is an issue. I bet if you check on YouTube you can find a video on how to balance the bike. You shouldn't have to do that but that is where you are now. We have two users for the bike and change it every day. I had to adjust the bike when I took spin classes at the gym. This is nothing new. You need to get the correct fitting so that each person gets the best work out possible.
