I have a tween girl right now and she came out trans I would accept the child, love the child and support the child any which way can and I be happy I have a son. But, how anyone can say there is no medical/mental condition present when a person's brain does not match the body is beyond me and totally defies any sense of logic. Biology is biology to me and having a mental/medical condition is no judgment about the person. Alas, I will be called transphobic, ignorant, a bully, bad parent, and bigot.
Where exactly did you get your degree in psychology again?
I don't need a psychology degree to use basic logic. I dare to say that many in the medical community think that psychology isn't science at all. These are all excuses to make people feel like rejecting your gender is normal. Come on, we all know "scientific" conclusions can be determined to reach a certain outcome. Happens everyday...
No, only people who don't know much about science believe anything similar to what you're saying. Sure, some people will fake results and make baseless claims. The scientific method has a baked-in way of dealing with that -- results must be capable of being replicated by independent research teams. It's a source of considerable joy to researchers to expose bogus results and fraud in science. This is why science has given us air travel, space travel, antibiotics, cancer treatments, vaccinations, organ transplants, advanced manufacturing, etc. "Base logic" alone without the scientific method got us caves. And sometimes fire if we were lucky. And burning witches. And worshiping volcanoes. And human sacrifice. I'm a trained in psychology, but it's my understanding that exactly zero reputable "people in the medical community" think that "psychology isn't science at all." They DO think that there's a crisis of replicability in modern psychology research, which is being addressed by the baked in process of the scientific method --- people are trying to reproduce claims and rejecting research that can't be reproduced. Also, you may not be aware, but psychology is not the same as psychiatry, which I think is the field primarily concerned when PPs talk about the DSM. Because it's a medical specialty, I'm certain that no reputable physicians think that psychiatry is not a a science.
