This is right on. We should buy fake diamonds because it's better for the environment and all the human beings involved in both processes. Just don't say we should call them real diamonds for those reasons.[/quote]

I also have a lab grown diamond for these reasons.  One additional reason, which feels so ridiculously "DC" that I cannot believe I am even saying this:  I am an antitrust lawyer and want to encourage competition against the DeBeers monopoly.

The diamond is great and I feel good about wearing it.  If I were to do it over again, though, I might opt out of the diamond entirely, and go for something less traditional.[/quote]
