I am an antitrust lawyer and have represented jeweler clients. It’s just untrue. Whether diamonds are particularly rare or not in the abstract isn’t the question. They’re costly to mine and absolutely rare in high clarity, colorless, large pieces (ie big enough to yield a 3 carat cut stone). [/quote]
