that's absurd. there are likely hundreds if not thousands of young female law grads just as qualified as she is. This is payola, clear as day. Sophia will be ostracized by elite legal institutions and will have to scrape the bottom of the barrel after she peters out at her post-clerkship firm job. [/quote]

You are imagining favoritism. The bar for a Supreme Court clerkship is very high. Only a small number qualifies. If you don't have evidence of who was bumped by the Tiger club, you are just making stuff up.

Look, as an Ivy law school grad with plenty of friends with top appellate and a few Supreme Court clerkships, I can tell you with 100000%%% certainty that there are MANY extremely qualified grads who could have taken her place, in an instant. She got it due to connections. [/quote]

Just because we don't have access to confidential HR information, doesn't mean a problem doesn't exist.   Kavanaugh clearly realizes that his reputation is already mud, so he's not even trying to avoid the appearance of impropriety.  And Sophia Rubenfeld clearly wasn't a strong enough candidate to get hired by any other SCOTUS judge who wasn't beholden to her mom.[/quote]
