They are committed to the small rosters.  They are only taking players that should be there.  They have already started having those crucial conversations with existing players that won't make the roster.

Don't have any idea what she's doing, but I will say that that girl is a different situation than most of the other complained about play ups, who are doing it because they demand it and get their way, or because there is a hole due to injury, etc., at a higher age group and it's filling that gap, not helping the player.

Not saying she should play 05 or 04, but she would not be challenged by virtually any 07 -- there are not FULL TEAMS of players at that age as good as she is.  My view on playing up is that it's only for VERY unusual situations when a) the player is head and shoulders better than her teammates, and b) the player is head and shoulders better than the players she'll face in most at-age games. Not saying there aren't a few others like her out there in the 07 age group, but that girl needs more of a challenge than playing at 07 would give. This is the same reason physically developed kids aren't getting any better by destroying their smaller counterparts at in regular travel situations....  [/quote]
