Forgive me, I'm a bit clueless (I did not grow up in the U.S. system). What are the odds of getting off the wait list for a Regional Magnet Program? One of my twins got wait listed for the Math, Science, Computer Science program at Roberto Clemente MS. His scores seem low compared to what some other folks are posting. Thanks for any thoughts!
His scores probably aren't low compared to the scores of his cohort going into his assigned MS. Some do get off waitlist. We turned down the MS magnets last year. Happy to forgo long bus rides in return for "enriched" classes. Poster above in this thread indicates there is more movement in the waitlists under the new admissions offer system. That makes sense to me - when it was a parent driven application, the parents had already considered the impact the transportation might have - now, kids invited to test, more (yay!) test, results come in, and then the real thinking about family schedules begins.
