When a woman gets fixated on an AP, she does not care about anything else - not even the safety or psychological well-being of her children - and she easily rationalizes her behavior as right and moral no matter how outrageous it is. If you say anything to her, she's just going to tune you out, and you'll hear a lot of bleating about "I wasn't haaaaaappy" and "he's my soul-mate and I deserve a chance at True Love!"
Yeah, my ex-wife was like this. She stopped grocery shopping and fed our three year old nothing but boxed mac and cheese for a few weeks. She said that since we had joint custody, I could provide the veggies, fruit, and everything else on my nights. Her friends tried talking sense into her about other reckless things she was doing, but it was like talking to a brick wall. Two of them called me concerned and suggested I get our kid out of the house ASAP. When her and the AP broke up, it got even worse. I don't think there's much the OP can say or do.
