The topic of this thread is the achievement gap, which in MCPS is between kids from families classified as white or Asian and kids from classified as black or Hispanic. How would you talk about the achievement gap without including race in the discussion? It's as though we were talking about the differences between Finnish and Senegalese cuisine, and somebody said, "Why do people always bring climate into conversations?
