I don't know what school system you are in, but the Post has been doing great journalism on this phenomenon. Both the linked article and one about two months ago about Langley Park.

This is what drives me insane about these discussions. It's always the ones who are wealthy enough to shutter themselves off in affluent, primarily homogeneous enclaves trying to tell the rest of us that WE'RE the racists, fear mongerers, etc. for being concerned about gangs, violence, etc. in the local schools. [/quote]
