What about Susan Rice? Does she also look similar pretty but similar enough to an ape to justify Roseanne’s comment about her? OP do you also think she looks white? Roseanne has a history of posting racist stuff on Twitter.
It's also interesting that her history of Islamophobia doesn't seem to bother anyone.
It’s Trump Fatigue. The In your face Islamophobia has been with us since the inception of the Muslim ban. Apparently, I. Trumps America, there are no real consequences for blatant Islamophobia. The blatant in your face racism is nothing new either. It’s just nice to see there is a line in the sand somewhere. Also, if you don’t live in an urban, global part of America, you might never meet a Muslim. Seriously. I was raised in the South. My mother, grad degree and fairly liberal, could not cope when I mentioned that DD’s play date that we were picking up was Muslim, so we needed to also get beef hotdogs for the girls. Instant freak out. Wait, we were going to meet Larla’s mother? A Muslim woman? What should she say? What should she do? Did Larla’s mother “take the veil” (WTF? And no, no hijab)? Was my mother “allowed” to look Larla’s mother in the eyes (again, WTF?), and this definite undertone of— I’m sure you know what you are doing, but is it really safe to let my grandchild play with a Muslim? It’s like, well, Mom, your grandchild’s school has quite a few Muslim students, our next door neighbors who you met when they came over for a picnic were Muslim (they were? And no one told me? And I treated them like human beings?) Where I grew up, there was one Jewish family in town, who sent 2 kids to my HS. Forget Muslim. So a lot of liberals are more comfortable with Islamophobia, because they are uncomfortable around Muslims. They know they “shouldn’t be”. But they are. But they deal with different races every day. ABC does not want to go within a million miles of the anti-Muslim crack, because a lot of Americans are anti-Islamophobia in theory. In practice, Muslims make them uneasy. Because they have no experience with Muslims— or really any cultural diversity. Whereas my kids grow up with all sorts of religious and cultural diversity. But do not have the same experiences with SES diversity I had growing up in the rural south.
Aside from the fact that Roseanne's been generally racist and Islamophobic, she specifically libeled George Soros by accusing him of giving Jews up to the Nazis. So, at some level, her racism and Islamophobia are side issues. The core issue is that she's spreading damaging lies about specific people committing terrible crimes.
