How many candidates apply for Rhodes Scholarships at MIT versus Harvard? Harvard has the largest number of Rhodes Scholars of any American university. How many candidates at TJ, Blair Magnet apply for Presidential Scholarships vs Sidwell, NCS or STA? In fact, what is the average SAT score of students from D.C. vs MD or VA? What is the average SAT score of the top 30 male and female subjects from D.C. vs MD or VA? What are the average SAT scores of students at Blair Magnet, TJ vs Sidwell, NCS or STA?
Ummm truly intelligent people don't measure themselves by these tests and scores as they tend to be too busy with their passions: math olympics, science competitions, playing as a member of their city's Symphony, writing satire for their school's underground press or just keeping their head down while just dying for HS to end so that they can go somewhere stimulating( if they didn't already leave for MIT or some other university when they were 15 ), etc....A gifted mind is usually unimpressed with such crass obsessions. There were 10 National Merit Winners in my senior class( non- DMV public , non-magnet public school) and 20 Finalists, NONE of them went around comparing themselves to others based on their scores. No one even knew that they had won this honor until we saw the very small asterix next to their names in the Commencement program. That is as it should be. And I agree w/ Sam2: what are you doing on a website created by 40 year old women so that they could chat about child rearing ON A FRIDAY NIGHT or any night for that matter????
