NP. I don't have a dog in this fight because I don't have a second grader this year, but depending on where you live, some kids can choose different middle schools if they are accepted to AAP. Where we live, if you're non-AAP, you go to Stone MS, whereas AAP kids go to Rocky Run. [/quote]

We are zoned for Rachel Carson anyway. The benefit would be taking AAP level Math, science and the like, vs regular or honors. He can choose courses but only up to a certain level. We tried, for example, because he is taking Alegbra 1 in private (6th) and without the AAP, he moves backwards a bit in math.
