Fairfax is legally obligated to educate the kids who are here. [/quote] PP is correct. This is not up to the School Board. However, what is up to the School Board is how they spend other money. The federal government provides money for reduced classes for Title I kids. That's fine. They likely do need smaller classes. However, FCPS School Board provides even more money to reduce the classes even further. I believe that, when practical, we should give more resources to those that need it--but not at the expense of packing kids like sardines in the other schools. Essentially, that is happening in Fairfax County. There has to be some balance and common sense applied here. When you have classes of 15 in one school and 30 in another, that is not a good balance of resources. [/quote]
