PP who has never had more than 22. Every year, my second grader has gained and lost a few students over the year, usually ending within one kid of where they started. This is at Louise Archer. I just heard that our Kindergarten classes all have fewer than 20 kids. I think in 3rd through 6th, some of the classes get but have not paid too much attention.

Not necessarily. But, they do get larger during September. After that, it's hit or miss. Some get bigger, some smaller.

It depends on the school and the school year. We've had classes over 25 and classes under 25. It just depends on enrollment and staff allocation.
I'd say the majority of classes though in Vienna are at 25 or above. They tend to cap out around 30.

It depends on the school and the school year. We've had classes over 25 and classes under 25. It just depends on enrollment and staff allocation.

It's normal to have classes over 25 in Vienna.
That is not true.. yes, some classes can be.. We have been at 23 for 2 years now.

It's normal to have classes over 25 in Vienna.

PP is correct. This is not up to the School Board. However, what is up to the School Board is how they spend other money. The federal government provides money for reduced classes for Title I kids. That's fine. They likely do need smaller classes. However, FCPS School Board provides even more money to reduce the classes even further.
I believe that, when practical, we should give more resources to those that need it--but not at the expense of packing kids like sardines in the other schools. Essentially, that is happening in Fairfax County. There has to be some balance and common sense applied here. When you have classes of 15 in one school and 30 in another, that is not a good balance of resources.
