My son is 13 and has a burgeoning lawn care business. He's been mowing for 2 years and in June bought, with his own money, a $4,000 wide deck commercial walk behind mower. He has a trailer with racks, a trimmer, edger, and blower. Right now he works only on Thursdays and makes $500/week, plus more for the occasional one offs. Very proud of his work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
Great job!
A friend of my brother did this in HS. By sophomore year, he was hiring others to help out because he had so much business. Though he went to one of the Big 3, he didn't go to college and instead concentrated on his business, which is now one of the area's major landscape companies.
