How she used her real family as a basis for the characters in the show, but switched it up (and then in the last episode showed how they actually were). In other words, Jackie was her sister but in real life her sister is gay (and in the show, she just made her having lots of man-problems) in real life, her daughter that is like Darlene married the character that was Becky's husband and her daughter that was like Becky married the John Galeki character. She was just telling the audience what her real family looked like.[/quote]
