I think Scenario 3 will swap the Franklin Farm portion of Oak Hill that got screwed in Scenario 2 with the non-Franklin Farm portion of Crossfield that got screwed in Scenario 1. It will be an even swap at Franklin MS, and nobody seems to care that Oakton is overcrowded, so it will just give 50 or so kids from those neighborhoods back.
Yes, and I think they will send the Oak Hill contingent to Carson. So many go there already.
Oak Hill parent here. Yep that’s our hope that all of Oak Hill ends up at Carson and Skyview. The families I know that are walkers to Franklin are fine with the switch to Carson since it’s so close and they would prefer that the kids stay together as a cohort. Otherwise I am guessing the county will be looking to flip them to Lees Corner in the next comprehensive boundary in 5 years to eliminate the new split feeder being created.
Those parents need to be commenting on the scenarios that they would give up walking to Franklin so they can stay with their ES and go to Skyview. There is probably a 1% chance of keeping Oak Hill at Chantilly, so saying that you don’t care which HS you go to isn’t helping. Just say that we want to go to Skyview and will take the short bus ride to Carson over the walk to Franklin.
