This happens every year and I wish the league did this differently bc coaches are frustrated too by parents who do this
What could they possibly do differently, however? I am having a hard time imaging what a different way could look like. Do other regions do it different than CHRVA? I say this knowing it is stressful, but I can’t see a way to avoid that tbh.
Maybe an earlier deadline for the top teams? My DD took an offer at deadline only to receive a better offer after deadline that she couldn’t accept. Really unfair.
Maybe clubs should provide a discount for those who accept by Monday at 10pm. Those who wait until Tuesday would have to pay more thereby providing an incentive to accept early and help those waiting at lower levels
This is a brilliant idea and would absolutely work and encourage parents to accept early. We know so many people sitting on multiple offers every year. I can understand sitting on one but 3 doesn’t seem right.
Have you or anyone ever asked families sitting on more than 1 offer WHY they're sitting on 2+? I get sitting on the one offer in hopes of a better one. But once you get 2, don't you know who your preferred club/team is and can't you release the offer you know you're not taking? When we've been in that situation, we've always released the offer we were sure we wouldn't take, and only sat on the one we hoped would be bested by a specific more desired club. Why does anyone sit on 2+ offers ever??
I can imagine sitting on a second offer if your kid had a friend that she hoped to play with (or that you really needed to do a carpool with) and the other girl is still waiting to hear. We aren’t in that scenario but I can imagine it — my kid was hoping her friend that lives near us would get an offer for the same team. It’s gojng to really stink not to have her to carpool with — that would have made a difference for me as a parent!
