If there's an error in your required paperwork submitted at try-out registration - expired CHRVA membership, DOB incorrectly listed/not verified, or some other technicality.

What could they possibly do differently, however? I am having a hard time imaging what a different way could look like. Do other regions do it different than CHRVA?
I say this knowing it is stressful, but I can’t see a way to avoid that tbh.
Maybe an earlier deadline for the top teams? My DD took an offer at deadline only to receive a better offer after deadline that she couldn’t accept. Really unfair.
Maybe clubs should provide a discount for those who accept by Monday at 10pm. Those who wait until Tuesday would have to pay more thereby providing an incentive to accept early and help those waiting at lower levels
This is a brilliant idea and would absolutely work and encourage parents to accept early. We know so many people sitting on multiple offers every year. I can understand sitting on one but 3 doesn’t seem right.
Have you or anyone ever asked families sitting on more than 1 offer WHY they're sitting on 2+? I get sitting on the one offer in hopes of a better one. But once you get 2, don't you know who your preferred club/team is and can't you release the offer you know you're not taking? When we've been in that situation, we've always released the offer we were sure we wouldn't take, and only sat on the one we hoped would be bested by a specific more desired club.
Why does anyone sit on 2+ offers ever??

Send in your declines, please.

For example, clubs could offer roster spots to returning players at the end of July/after Nationals with acceptance and deposit required by August 1st. Clubs post their returning players by mid-August (technically, before the high school season begins) and submit those partial rosters to CHRVA. Any players that accept the offer to return would not participate in any tryouts during the "normal" Oct/Nov window ... and can focus on finishing their HS season. Players who do not accept an offer to return can test the waters at other clubs (during clinics and tryouts) ... and could still try out for any remaining roster spots at their previous club. If a club doesn't offer a spot to a returning player, both parties know where they stand. When the tryout weekends roll around, everyone would already know how many roster spots remain on a particular team and can decide to participate in club tryouts accordingly.
Personally, I prefer the late fall tryout model over the summer model that some other regions use. Players get a chance to reflect on the past season and explore other options through camps and clinics before deciding where to tryout for next season. While most clubs have some number of returners every year, forcing players to decide if they want to play for the same club next season immediately at the end of the prior season seems like it would just be stressful in a different way and could result in some players not exploring more competitive clubs for fear of losing their advantage for a spot with last season’s club.

If your kid is sitting on offers you probably won’t accept, please please please turn them down and notify them ASAP this morning! There are sooooo many girls waitlisted and panicked.
This happens every year and I wish the league did this differently bc coaches are frustrated too by parents who do this
It is outrageously stressful, but what is the alternative process you suggest? I think the main point and benefit of having until Tues to accept/decline is to not be strongarmed by aggressive clubs to accept on the spot because if you don't on the spot, you'll lose that chance. Knowing what your choices are when you finally decide makes it far more likely there will NOT be massive shakeups and lots of players on teams they didn't want but accepted because they were scared, then could have been on a better/more desired team.
We made our decisions within hours of her last tryout (which was Sat) and let all 4 teams know right away on Sat. We would never want to be those parents sitting on an offer in hopes something better would come along but early in our DDs playing we were you, waiting hoping for something, and we did wait to accept our last choice because we were praying we'd get something better, and we usually did at the last minute.
It's very frustrating and exhausting, but what alternative process do you propose so girls aren't strong-armed right away into decisions on the spot or that same day that they truly regret later?

This is an interesting idea! I suppose it would have to come at the CHRVA level across all clubs to work.
Now watch the most expensive clubs jack the rates another $1000 to cover this. I’m looking at you, Virginia Elite. lol. 😆
Tuesday @ 10 rule was in place to give players enough time to make informed decisions and protect them from various types of pressure coming from the clubs. I don't think CHRVA will allow incentives to play a role, even though I may be wrong about that.
My DD is getting *a lot* of pressure to accept an offer but she’s still waiting to hear from her club of choice where she’s on the waiting list. Like emails every few hours asking about status, phone calls, etc. It’s stressing her out.
