I’m fifty and did want very much to marry and have children, but it didn’t happen for me. I’m not miserable or lonely. I’m very content.

Your comment about chaos is definitely true of me. I think women like me lean into the peaceful aspect of our lives. You used the word “content” to describe the single women you know, and I used it to describe myself. It is a life of contentment and peace, and I think we become very protective of it, which is why we are “set in our ways”. [/quote]
