It’s sad. Women these days prioritize being single and the SATC lifestyle, and then at 40 realize they are going to be alone and without kids for the next several decades.
Do you actually know any single and childless women over 40? Because I do, and they're doing fine.
Sure they are. They love coming back to their empty and lonely apartment or home on a daily basis, no partner to do anything with or take trips with, no children to brighten and liven up their life. Just an endless supply of designer clothes and shoes to wear for girls nights.
Have you read the Relationship forum? Everybody in there would kill to have a house to themselves.
If pp thinks coming home from work and trying to get kids teady to go to sleep every night would ‘brighten and liven’ up someone’s life they are delusional. I love my three kids under 8 but it’s exhausting and frankly grueling work especially when you don’t have enough sick leave or maternity leave, people openly resent you on planes and in restaurants despite welcoming pets (guess it’s all that liveliness), boomers are generally too busy living their best life to help out with their grandkids, and you can’t guarantee your kids will have a better life than you did so you work like heck to try and give them a leg up.
