The attack on Aunt Lydia meant Lawrence had to act quickly to get his new Handmaid out of Gilead, leading to an opportunity to rescue another Handmaid and her child. Kinda odd, but I thought it was sweet that Lawrence called his wife “my love” as he was whisking Emily out of the house.
