I'm not sure why they wanted to elicit that. How did Joe then not realize that Christine was a different person when he arrived in person?[/quote]

She matched the picture he had been shown, and he probably just didn’t notice the different voice. It’s not like they would have been having a calm conversation in that moment as he had had with Juliana on the phone previously.

And even if he had- like, if instead of just screaming, she was screaming words at him and he was like wait a minute this lady sounds nothing like the lady on the phone- and he stopped, and was like "wait, i know you arent giving me the safe word/ safe finger snap, but i need to stop for a minute because you dont sound like who i talked to about this encounter"- it doesnt change the fact that brendan and the au pair were already in the house with guns ready to kill them both.  so even if christine and joe realized that they'd been set up because joe recognized her voice was different- what would have changed?  nothing. Oh I am absolutely not suggesting that Joe "should have" realized it or anything. I just didn't understand from a trial perspective why the prosecution highlighted that question about the accent, except maybe to preempt the defense pointing it out?[/quote]
