So, if your saying that badge is worth that much, then explain why? I'm not seeing it - not at the MLSN2 level; especially with a split BY and SY for next season making MLSN2 a dead end for promotion.

MLSN teams in Texas are not even close to ECNL teams. Texas and California, ECNL is king. We know boys playing on MLSN HG teams in Houston that couldn't even make an HTX RL team, but they're having fun! Enjoying playing soccer, developing as players. So really who cares? Personally I think playing on a MLSN HG team as opposed to an ECNL RL team and because of that missing ourt on the joy and camaraderie that is texas high school soccer is silly but to each other own!

The only thing thats laughable is the idea that MLS P2P clubs in Texas is somehow a better path to a professional academy. We see kids every year go from all kinds of teams into the professional academies, as well as get cut form those same academies and come back to ECNL teams. No age group change is going to change any of that.

Give it some time + Boys ECNL is not top in socal. MLSN2 is simply a clone of ECNL boys now that its completely seperate from MLS and SY. It will compete in the 2nd tier boys market for players.

fyi, Albion Elite 2010 is the top players from all Albion clubs, including MLS1. The 1st team is at the bottom of the 2010 group. The 2nd 2010 team tied the Surf ECNL 2011 team that plays up. The MLS2 teams that top the bracket is actually from the MLS2 only club and they beat Barca Academy MLS2 team 9:0, so they are actually MLS1 level if the club can get MLS1 status.

You can do biobanding to play in the MLS1 younger group, so same as ECNL SY.

Not necessarily! You have to be a late developer to play in the younger group.

No biobanding police in MLS. As long as you are short, then you can play down. There is no doctor or sth to check. They only measure your height.

Actually, they measure weight, sitting height, standing height and take several photos that must be submitted to the league, including one comparing the players on the entire MLS team in birth order in a line so you can se relative size based upon age. They also take photos of the players’ necks to evaluate whether an Adam’s Apple is present.

Most people here have no clue about the process. Some say you just have to be short, others say they are “giraffes” or “tallest on the field”. None of that is correct.

We only measure standing height; no picture is taken. The procedure is very loose. The younger team coach emailed our team saying that he wants to biobanding, talk to him. So as long as you are short, you can bioband if you cannot get minutes in your team. We also have U18 playing down in U17.
