I would avoid any travel team where the coach or director has a kid in your daughter's age group. It just seems like a recipe for drama. In rec, it's unavoidable, but there's no reason to put up with it in club.[/quote]

Parent coaches are the norm, whether M&D, Hero's, MDU, BLC, Yellow Jackets, its the reality.

I’m sure there are parent coaches who do a fine job but you rarely escape feelings that they favor their own kid, and if their own isn’t the best there’s no chance she gets cut [/quote]
