It cost the same for childcare when they both needed it. Maybe the difference is that I couldn't work as much as I wanted because it just wasn't worth it. The biggest issue is why anyone would think their parents should help. My very young MIL was working full time (80 hours a week) when my first was born, there was no way she could help out, my retired parents live 6 hours away. Did I complain about the lack of help, no. Why? Because I WANTED KIDS, they didn't force me, they didn't ask for grandchildren. [/quote]
