I send my kids private. Political candidates who send their kid public will likely get a vote from me though. The quality of public education has dropped SIGNIFICANTLY since I went to public school. I now have to pay for what my parents got for free and it makes me a bit salty. I don't believe that politicians who put their kids in private have enough skin in the game. Bush Jr and Sr, Clinton, Obama all sent their kids to public schools at some point. Trump and Biden don't have my respect in this regard.
Obama's kids went to Sidwell.
As did Chelsea Clinton.
Public schools really aren't set up to accommodate Secret Service details and requirements.
Yeah that wasn’t even close to the entire reason.
But it's a big part.
They're also talking about DC schools which we all know are not the best publics for the most part. I wonder if they would have done public if they could have gone in a UMC suburb.
I seriously doubt it. The reality is, people with means usually choose private school.
Okay but on the former presidents, PP’s point was that their kids had attended public schools at some point — like the Obama kids did in Chicago. I’m sure there were reasons and I don’t know anything about those schools, but these examples were kids who did not attend private all the way, although they did in DC.
