What’s a foundational school?
GDS term for safety
 I keep reading this thread, and you are the second person to allege this. I just posted that NCS calls them foundational schools. I don't know if GDS does or not.
Yes, NCS calls them foundational schools. My DD got into 2 foundational schools and WL or rejected at every target/match and reach school. Hoping to get off of a WL. Not a great outcome after working so hard for 4 years.
Is the NCS college counselor making calls to get your DD off the waitlist?
Not the PP but it’s not so simple this year. Waitlists at some places won’t move at all, or only a little. And some have waitlists miles long and my DC’s school isn’t the only with with counselors calling. I’m sure the counselors are making contact, but there isn’t much to do after sending in the letter of continued interest and cross your fingers. Chances are something will not come through unless your child is waitlisted at a school T40 and lower. One of my DC’s friends did get off a waitlist of a T50 school but for the life of me I don’t remember which one. I do know it’s in California. Very tough year for some kids. It may be a long summer waiting for those WL calls that may never come.
