According to the paper this morning the swimmers met with USOC and State Dept and everyone agreed not to talk about it and let it get resolved/blow over, and then Lochte walked across the street and gave a tv interview with his BS story. I hope USOC finds some way to show that this is unacceptable-- even if it's meaningless like kicking him off the team.
Attention seeker. Plain and simple. The other 3 didn't say much at all publicly -- maybe bc they were abiding by what the USOC/State Dept told them to do. 2 said nothing, and I think Gunnar Bentz tweeted out that he was safe.
Eventually Feigen agreed that there was an armed robbery. This was Wednesday or Thursday, after everything was blowing up.
That's because there WAS AN ARMED ROBBERY. Person points gun + demands money = armed robbery. Why aren't people getting that?! Lochte isn't very smart, we all know that. He should not have done that iPhone interview with Billy Bush, but he was shaken up, he was caught off guard, he wasn't with his PR people...Not sure he knew any better so he did the interview.
Except in his interview he completely fabricated the entire story! He didn't mention being shitfaced at a gas station, pissing on a wall and someone demanding money afterwards, he said they were pulled over, ordered to the ground and he was the only one who refused. Anyone with half a brain knows that you don't 'refuse' robbers armed with guns in a foreign country. Oh, and that was an armed robbery, it was an extortion - which they could have fought except they knew they'd screwed up, and that's why they paid up and got out of there.
