There has been a story on the Charlottesville CBS website and an article on the RTD website from another source.  This has not been mentioned on any local Richmond tv stations at all.  It is surprising because the family has strong Richmond connections, there are not many female child predators and generally white female predators DO make the news.  Think of all the stories of the white female teachers having sexual relationships with high school students.

Also, no Wash Post, WTOP, etc.   These outlets report tons of stories out of Charlottesville.

I do find this unusual.

Not really. Do you know how many terrible things actually happen to children every day, up to and including torture and murder? This is an extremely salacious story but [b]no actual children were harmed[/b]. It’s main interest is local. At most you can expect coverage from the yellow press like NY Post and possibly some kind of C list Dateline show. [/quote]

A) no one said this crime deserves more coverage than other crimes 
B) I am well aware horrific crimes hapoen to kids every day since I work with kids and unfortunately have seen way too much of this first hand
C)  if the mainstream media doesn’t report about crimes how will the general public know about them?  all crimes deserve news coverage. [/quote]

If anyone seriously doubts the media “looks the other way” or ignores certain crimes by connected, powerful, and rich people, then you haven’t been paying attention.

NPR and others have documented this phenomenon; recently in how the media utterly failed to investigate Jeffry Epstein after his FIRST conviction (you knew he got off easy the first time, right?)
