So do you tell the TD why you are leaving or if you are having a problem with the coach? Our coach has really mishandled stuff with our dd...riding her very hard and never any positive feed back at u11. We are not really the type to complain to the TD. I really do not believe the club’s higher ups would do anything? Kind of like going to HR. It’s to the point where dd wants to leave the club or stop playing. I know she loves soccer, but I am of the mind to let her quite. Do kids change teams mid season? As long as she can practice with the top team, she really would not care what team she played on.
I agree with you. Voicing complaints to the TD, even in the most matter of fact way possible, generally does not change things, If you have a good relationship with the TD, or if DD is a superstar, maybe. Switching clubs mid-year happens all the time, but has pro's and con's. pro's It can be hard to have good insight into other clubs until you're there. So you might avoid one problem to fall right into a different problem at a new club (they all have some type of dysfunction). Switching mid-year limits your exposure. If a new club is willing to welcome you mid-year, it might be because they have a need. If this is the case, this can be good for DD. The familiarity gained by playing a half season will give you a leg up at tryouts for the fall. Like it or not, this is part of the selection process. con's Most clubs with yearly fees will not refund your balance so you'll be paying twice for half a season. You cannot predict the reaction of the former club. A door may close there. The travel soccer scene can be small at times, you'll be surprised how fast word gets around. DD will have the stigma of "the new player" on her team for a time. The focus will be on her initially as families figure out why the roster increased by one, particularly if roster was already full.
