What exactly is a South Carolinian in modern times? I've heard if plenty of northerners retiring there. People have moved and mixed so much over the past century, can someone truly claim to be OF a certain state? What's a Floridian? A New Yorker? A Texan? What if you father is from Texas but his parents are from Taiwan? Is he less of a Texan than a white person with parents who moved to Texas from Chicago 30 years ago? I just want to know who is responsible for taking down the Confederate flag at this point.
Interesting point. I can tell you that in at least a couple of states that I am very familiar with...there are those born and raised, or moved in at a very young age...there are Yankees who have moved there and haven't lived there long...and naturalized. Now, how do you know they have gone from Yankees to being naturalized? At least 10 years residency, twice the Federal requirement, and they don't say could you guys, or youse, get me a pop...it's can one of y'all grab me a soda, or Coke. All soda's are Cokes...so when someone says...can you, or y'all if plural, grab me a Coke...they will ask...what kind? LOL
