If it's not going to happen then why are OMB, OPM, and agencies all preparing for it?  Again, if the government shuts down that clock will start ticking, and 60 days later 92+ percent of the federal workforce will be gone, unless something changes.

Who are you people who are absolutely certain it won't happen?  You're going to have to be a White House or Senate Staffer with inside knowledge to be making a declaration like that with any certainty.[/quote]

My point was that 60 days until firing is possible is a long time -- long enough for even people in the sticks to get annoyed with that certain services are unavailable.[/quote]
