what a totally bizarre argument we are having- https://www.google.com/maps/dir/800+N+Arlington+Mill+Dr,+Arlington,+VA+22205/Kenmore+Middle+School,+South+Carlin+Springs+Road,+Arlington,+VA/@38.8701551,-77.1345066,16z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x89b7b46823729e0d:0x346bbd1be6f02b9!2m2!1d-77.1345243!2d38.8748333!1m5!1m1!1s0x89b7b471f16a5c3f:0xdbc7abaf792e51ef!2m2!1d-77.1297847!2d38.8655441!3e2
But they are also talking about this part of DH: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/5922+10th+Rd+N,+Arlington,+VA+22205/Swanson+Middle+School,+Washington+Boulevard,+Arlington,+VA/@38.8810202,-77.1407406,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x89b7b45da4575bd7:0xa364e78683a08a48!2m2!1d-77.1404202!2d38.8782955!1m5!1m1!1s0x89b7b45b79e2271d:0xa2ae5eb016286aa1!2m2!1d-77.1395938!2d38.8825527!3e2
right- but that is the same planning unit. So one edge of the planning unit is .4 miles from Swanson. The other edge of the planning unit is .9 miles from both Swanson and Kenmore.
For the math impaired, this means that the entire PU is closer to Swanson than Kenmore and within one mile of Swanson.
+1 It's really that simple.
But it’s also not like they are trying to shop you across the county to Jefferson (which I know you would fight and I agree), but would you be as upset if they were shopping you to Stratford? There are some inconsistencies across the county because the schools are located where APS has land, not necessarily where the schools need to be. ASFS boundary? Campbell/Claremont/Carlin Springs. Discover and Jamestown too close. The fact is that there may be some kids who get buses a bit further. 1/2 mike should be sacrosanct, but even then, we might still see anamolies.
