It's because he's saying unprecedented things threatening the civil liberties of traditionally oppressed and marginalized people. Many liberals fall into those categories of people. I'm sorry people don't stay as calm and dispassionate as you'd like when discussing these issues with you. This really isn't a liberal thing, though, if you live in a very conservative area and take a position contrary to the dominant one, you aren't exactly applauded or even treated respectfully all the time, either.[/quote]
