Don't know what to tell you. I'm from Sarajevo. I just know this stuff. We had the Olympics in 1984. Most educated people I talk to know where that is. Maybe it's not important to you, but it's more than a ski city or a beach resort. [/quote]

Good for you. Sarajevo is a historically important city. Pyeongchang is a small city known for a ski hill. Did you learn where people ski in Taiwan too? Did you learn where people in Peru vacation?[/quote]

are you kidding me- there is about to be a war between Serbia and Kosovo-- which you really should have an opinion about b/c when you vote for your congress people they will have an opinion about it which will influence how they choose to spend your tax dollars since you know the country you live in was "the leader of the free world" and the biggest economy on earth plus a very populous country - the only wealthy populous country and has a lot of influence on world affairs which makes us the  only wealthy populous country... (as in interfering in other countries makes ordinary Americans wealthy) and yes- knowing the history of teh balkans is still incredibly important... just like knowing about the ME.. we are more likely to get sucked into WW3 b/c of Balkans than the ME.
