I’m confused. The school board is doing a boundary public hearing Saturday morning on Reid’s recommendations but those recommendations won’t be shared until Thursday night? One day to digest recommendations for a huge county? More evidence of check the box community engagement.
The recommendations could be posted on Board Docs before Thursday night. There is a School Board meeting on Thursday night where Reid presents her recommendations to the SB but they could be posted earlier. It’s still ridiculous that they haven’t been posted already, but Reid has shown time and time again that she doesn’t know how to manage a school system this large.
I’m just waiting to see what the 2027-31 CIP says.
I wonder if they’ll change the contents of the CIP so it’s harder to tell how much is being spent on Western and which projects have been delayed or ignored as a result of the purchase of KAA.
I'm not any more concerned about those future projects being delayed than you were when the projected money in the 2016-18 CIPs for the Western HS got delayed. That Western money was projected to be spent FY 2021-2026, so it looks like we are right on target.
The difference is that the western school was always described as a long-term project subject to further delays or cancellation, whereas the large and unanticipated expenditure on KAA may delay projects already underway or scheduled to start in just a few years. That’s why the CIP could be interesting, or why they may try to obfuscate the impact. But thanks again for letting us all know you think a new western high school is the only thing that should ever matter to anyone.
Every future planned project is "subject to further delays or cancellation" until the contracts are signed and the money is spent. You keep applying that qualifier to the Western HS in order to dismiss it while trying to pretend it doesn't apply to anything else in the CIP. No projects that are underway have been affected, despite your fear mongering. It is possible they could save some money on the Centreville expansion now - but that hasn't been discussed except on here as far as I know.
Please lie some more. You get less convincing with every post. It’s exactly why we want to see the next CIP and find out if they’ve found some way to hide the ball about what projects have been delayed as a result of the decision to spend so much money on Western.
